Just as a side-note:

1. 'xfce4-terminal -x nano' works for me on Linux-Mint 19 Xfce Thunar v1.6.15
as a custom command in thunar (note it only works with -x and not -e)

2. 'xfce4-terminal -e 'nano %f'' doesn't work for me as a custom command in
thunar.
