>From what you say, all shortcuts from xfce4-settings / xfsettingsd does not
work anymore from time to time. Those from xfwm4 still works.

When this happen, can you try to kill xfsettingsd, check that there is no
xfsettingsd process anymore, then re run xfsettingsd?

Also, what are your components versions ? (libxfce4ui / xfce4-settings)
