            Bug ID: 14563
Summary: Feature request: Set width of Name column in file
                    display (disable auto-expand)
    Classification: Xfce Core
           Product: Thunar
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Medium
         Component: General
          Assignee: xfce-bugs at xfce.org
          Reporter: stephanfoley at yandex.com

  Target Milestone: 1.8.0

Hello, I am using Thunar 1.6.15 on Fedora 27. Great product. I have one issue I
thought might be addressed. I use the display - "details list view" and the
name column on the right side that displays the list of files is always
expanding past the window so I need to scroll to the right and double click to
bring it back to something that looks better. When it does this, I can't see
the other columns such as Size, Type and Date Modified. It is especially a
problem when there are files in the directory that have long file names and,
when I'm renaming files and the column keeps expanding. So, a little more user
control over the "Name" column would be very helpful! For myself, I would
rather the Name column did not auto-expand and I could just set the width to my
choice.

Thanks
