I don't know if it will help in anything, but i was encountering the same issue
(even if the main one from me was about transferring files) and i resolved it
by changing the parameters in fstab like that :

UUID=XXXXXXXXX /run/media/user/mountpoint ntfs
relatime,uid=1000,gid=1000,dmask=027,fmask=137    0   2
