I think the problem is in how qbittorrent (and others) is calling Thunar.
Via D-Bus we have this method: org.xfce.FileManager.DisplayFolderAndSelect
(String uri, String filename, String display, String startup_id) which works as
expected.

It would be very helpful to find out how Thunar is called, with D-Bus, xdg-open
or something else.
