Usually the *-dev packages only contain the headers of a package. That is only
required if you want to build  packageB which has a dependency to packageA. 
Afaik it wIll not help for getting the debug-symbols.

To get  the debug symbols into your thunar-binary, in Arch(and probably in
manjaro), it looks like you need to rebuild thunar with 'makepkg' .... I cannot
say much about the details, since I use debian which uses a different approach
on that.
