Yes, this bug still occurs in the latest version (1.6.10).

Additional information: I think the problem only happens when there is a large
number of files/directories visible. It is not related to volumes connected via
USB.

Another way to 'fix' this problem is to click again on the forward or back
button. This un-freezes Thunar without having to close it.
