note it is my experience that the last item is not released after left button
double click/single click selection (as per preferences) .. 

so something is not being cleared once the selection is acted on .. 

switching to any other views resets the main window .. (preious selection is
highlighted in the refreshed window but you can now unselect it) ..

also using only right click actions does not trigger the issue.. until a left
double click/single click selection is done
