Thanks Harald for explaining why devices aren't allowed to be dragged and
dropped. However, disabling drag and drop for that part of the sidebar has an
unfortunate side-effect. In previous versions of Thunar it was possible to drag
and drop files from the main pane onto devices in the sidebar. This was a
convenient way of copying files onto removable devices. In version 1.6.3 this
has stopped working.

Would it be possible to re-enable dragging and dropping of files onto devices,
without allowing the devices themselves to be dragged and dropped (for the
reasons you explained)?
