            Bug ID: 12029
Summary: Failed to rename "name03" to "name02" when ranges
                    overlap
    Classification: Xfce
           Product: Thunar
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Medium
         Component: renamer
          Assignee: xfce-bugs at xfce.org
          Reporter: mdinger.bugzilla at gmail.com
        QA Contact: nick at xfce.org
CC: benny at xfce.org, hjudt at xfce.org

STR:

0. Create 2 files in a new folder via thunar: "name02" and "name03"
1. CTRL-A to select all
2. F2 to rename
3. Choose `Numbering` as the rewriting scheme with settings:
 - Number Format: `01, 02, 03, ...`
 - Starts With: `1`
 - Text Format: `Text - Number`
 - Text: `name`
4. Choose `Name only` from the dropdown
5. Click `Rename Files`

Result:
Throws a warning: `Failed to rename "name03" to "name02"`

It appears to be failing because the new and old names overlap. If that is the
problem, perhaps a temporary name should be used (temporary names are obviously
not ideal but this is a really nice tool and it should always work).

The problem is not obvious especially if you have lots of files, say "file070"
to "file300".
