            Bug ID: 11582
Summary: Feature Request: Applications on Side Pane (for
                    Thunar)
    Classification: Xfce
           Product: Thunar
           Version: 1.6.5
          Hardware: PC (x86_64)
                OS: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Medium
         Component: core
          Assignee: xfce-bugs at xfce.org
          Reporter: lasers at protonmail.ch
        QA Contact: nick at xfce.org
                CC: benny at xfce.org

I wrote lot of things/reasons/explaination on inplementing Applications into
Side Pane (for Thunar) then I had to stop everything because there was an
emergency. My brother's wife's SUV dropped dead. About an hour and half away
from here... and it was full of kids. So we had two cars en route and different
drop points for the kids. We ate at McDonalds too. The kids were hungry. Ffs. I
drove about 5 hours tonight.

I came back to pick up where I left off and I restarted Firefox forgetting
about the feature request. I lost everything and I don't feel like I can type
up the same thing. It was beautiful and nice too. I'll keep this one short. :|

Having an option (Applications on Side Pane) a part of Thunar could make it a
popular choice for file manager for tiling managers where the people do not
have to run/install unnecessary packages (such as xfce4-panel, mate-panel,
adeskbar, xfce4-appfinder, etc) to access Applications from XDG Menu. Here's a
mockup image: http://i.imgur.com/tHOB2dE.png

Thunar is simple, clean, and works with files. I think having Applications for
Side Pane in Thunar may feel a bit more intutive than a separate app launcher
available somewhere else since they could explore, view, or run Applications
right there in their often-used file manager. Thank you.
