It applies cleanly to the released debian/ubuntu upstream source for their
version 4.8.3:

$ wget
http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/x/xfce4-session/xfce4-session_4.8.3.orig.tar.bz2
$ wget --no-check-certificate -O xfce4-session.patch
https://bugzilla.xfce.org/attachment.cgi?id=4582
$ tar -jxvf xfce4-session_4.8.3.orig.tar.bz2 
$ cd xfce4-session-4.8.3
$ patch -p0 < ../xfce4-session.patch

It also applies cleanly to the post-patched version (apt-get source
xfce4-session). Shouldn't that be enough for inclusion into those distros?
