And shouldn't it be a a good idea to *start* by automake/aclocal (without
version). It' usually the most recent available, so in case:

automake (1.11)
automake-1.8 are installed

automake 1.11 will be used, which seems like a better idea.

Currently, automake-1.8 would be used.
