Well, strictly, xfce was fist started in 1996 (not 2002).

Sure, I'm fine with the idea of changing the copyright title, although there is
no such "Xfce team" as an entity by itself. 

IANAL but I am not sure that "with others" whould be suitable either (ie define
"others"?).

It would be great to have some kind of structure that identifies clearly "Xfce
Development Team" before changing the copyright.
