Summary:                    Icons gets partly displayed, hover over isn't a real square
Description: 
The icons in xfce4-panel (4.0.5) gets partly displayed. Left and Right side
are cropped. This happens when the panel is not set as Large (so with:
tiny, small, etc.).

The problem is that gtk changed button size allocation. There is a fix in
the CVS version that should be backported soon if it doesn't cause any
problems.

Just to confirm this has nothing to do with imlib/libungif not being
installed, but just with the fact one system uses gtk+-2.4.1 (working) and
the other (new) uses 2.4.3?

yes, as jasper mentioned, this is a known issue with newer releases of gtk
2.4.
