I'm more for a plain txt attachment the revision control can just be
inline diff-style comments... however putting out a -beta release
message is a good idea IMO.

second I was thinking of putting my efforts into finding the proper
editorial addresses of 5 (arbitrary) linux/unix focussed major IT papers
and magazines in the netherlands and making sure that they *GET* the
official press announcement as soon as 4.2 goes live.

This is something we could coordinate a bit. To put it simple, we create
a list and add editorial e-mail addresses to it that could be on there.
I would take care of the dutch ones and write a quick translation to
accompany it. I can send out stuff from espresso at one point.

It might also be a good thing to add some information to the press
anouncement about what xfce exactly is (this will not be obvious to any
linux editorial department...!). Didn't check the release announcement
yet so good if it covers that.
