Hi all
I've just begun using arch linux and have recently discovered the joys
of xfce and it's wonderful accessibility. I'm just writing to say hello
and to hopefully be helpful in the continued development of xfce's
accessibility. I do have a few questions however. I'm using arch linux,
latest updates as of 10 pm november 1, 2012. the testing repositories
are not enabled, and i"m running xfce 4.10, and orca 3.6. there are some
components of xfce taht I cannot get to in orca, mostly the panel and
the settings manager doesn't seem to read. Does anyone know if this is
possible? Also, Are there any plans to improve thunar's accessibility? I
can only get orca to read the items by setting the directory tree to
active, and that is sometimes hit or miss.
My final question is reguarding xfce's notification support. Orca
doesn't see xfce's notifications unless I have the notify-osd package
installed, and then it reads them fine. I'm not complaining in any way,
i much much prefer xfce to gnome 3, which has become steadily slower and
slower, and i'm not interested in a tablet like interface anyway.
Thanks
Kendell clark
