Gentoo developers prepared a set of ebuilds that could be used, additionally there exist an unofficial package with all xfce4-4.4.0_beta2 ebuilds. So it is Your choice what ebuilds to use, here are instructions how to use them both:
- Packages download
* If You want use Portage ebuilds you have to only use **emerge --sync** command.
* If You want to use unoffical ebuilds You have to first download them from [[http://dev.gentoo.org/~moloh/ebuilds/|devspace]] site, untar and copy all files into a Portage overlay. Instructions howto create Portage overlay can be found on [[http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Installing_3rd_Party_Ebuilds|Gentoo Wiki]] and as usual in [[http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/2006.0/handbook-x86.xml?part=3&chap=5|Gentoo Handbook]]. These ebuilds are only prepared for ~x86 and ~amd64 architecture, but as new revisions will show on site, this would change.
