No, my argument is correct. The archiver provides the dialog shown to
you... if you want it to give you the password-protection option. It
should be added there.
Currently all the archivers i mentioned above provide password-entry
inside the 'add' dialog.
But it is the 'new' dialog which you get to see when using the
thunar-archive-plugin.
When passing command-line options (which is what tap does), these
archivers should (optionally) allow you to enter a password in the
'new' dialog.
Neither of them presents this feature.
But still... there are better ways to transfer files from A to B over
a secure line.
