PKG_CONFIG_PATH tells pkg-config where to find .pc files, which are
usually in $prefix/lib/pkgconfig.  If you just did plain ./configure,
then your exo installation prefix is /usr/local/.  Therefore, you need
to add /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig to your PKG_CONFIG_PATH. :)
