Some time ago I tried to use leaftag in Thunar to replace the "Emblems"
mechnism with "Tags" (emblems will be determined from the tags then).
Unfortunately leaftag doesn't scale well (already wrote an email to the
author, but didn't receive an answer). Starting with ~500 tagged items,
nautilus performance decreases notably. This is probably related to
SQLite and the database schema used for leaftag.

You can add atleast the tag dialog pretty easy to Thunar via a plugin.
But there's currently no support to add additional detailed list view
columns.
