Hm, dunno. "Show hidden files" shouldn't be used very often. I'd say, if
you find yourself hitting Ctrl+H very often, something is wrong with
your way of organizing your files. But as said, dunno...

Actually pretty easy. I want to put such a tool into libexo once I've
finished the ExoIconChooser class. That'd be used by xfdesktop (and
later ThunarDesktop) to create new launchers.

The panel doesn't use .desktop files (atleast the launcher plugin
doesn't), so there's nothing to share with the panel.
