Thanks again, Rodrigo. Tried the following with no success:

# /sbin/service fam stop
fam: unrecognized service
# /sbin/service FAM stop
FAM: unrecognized service
# /sbin/service gamin stop
gamin: unrecognized service
# /sbin/service GAMIN stop
GAMIN: unrecognized service
# /etc/init.d/fam stop
bash: /etc/init.d/fam: No such file or directory
# /etc/init.d/gamin stop
bash: /etc/init.d/gamin: No such file or directory
#

Paul
