[Thunar-dev] A simple "panel" mode would be useful

Unfortunately, this doesn't work in the general case.

Taking only my current system for example, I have a few
prefixes.

Currently, I have applications that I might want to edit
in:

/usr/share/applications/
/usr/local/share/applications/
/home/ori/coding/testing_root/share/

This may vary between other systems and setups (...and even users, since I
suspect many coders have set up a way of installing software they're hacking
on into a test location instead of installing systemwide).
