In some cases, perhaps.  But I'd like to have a more or less
fully-functional desktop for people who have thunar-vfs installed, but
not thunar itself (maybe they prefer nautilus for some reason, but still
want the xfdesktop root menu, I dunno).  I'm probably just going
overboard in my wish to make xfdesktop as self-contained as possible,
but... that's how I am ^_^.
