ditto.

Although I think it will be less surprising to the user if it disappears 
only on an explicit request from the user: ie: 'Esc' or a close box.

You should think of it as a docked dialog, rather than a hidden location 
bar.

That's why I like the Firefox find bar better than the ROX one.
