Sounds like a good idea, actually.

How to get rid of all those buggy mount options for the major distros
that mount vfat like if every file on it is executable though? same for
non-rockridge iso9660, with the flawed reason that a cdrom could contain
an executable, hence better have everything executable instead of
nothing (given that there is no info about whether the file is
executable or not on iso9660 it seems).

Then again, just writing that somewhere on the thunar page so that not a
million people come asking "why doesnt it detect any files correctly on
my windows volume", and using the executable bit nevertheless sounds ok
too :)
