On the other hand, it would be nice to be able to load (e.g.) NFS mounts
asynchronously, so other open Thunar windows won't block as well.  When
using a file manager to browse slow network shares, I usually leave one
window loading a slow directory, and do something else in another window.

Agreed that threading would be a pain, though.  I'm just saying what I'd
like to see, not how to best implement it =p.
