@1) It seems they have changed the expiration date (that was 2016-04-04
before).

@2) ToZ, could you maybe provide sample data too (a link would be sufficient)?
The schema at http://api.met.no/weatherapi/sunrise/1.1/schema does not show any
of the additional xml attributes you use in the patch, though I do not doubt
that it is correct.

Also, the plugin will not simply stop working. The error message is a bit
misleading because I copied it from the message for the weather data. The
plugin will simply not show any sunrise/sunset data when the sunrise service
expires.
