That is a good idea. Probably there will be difficulties with the way the
plugin caches and uses data etc., so while the UI part is trivial, the backend
stuff is not. Additionally, there will be problems with time calculations (GMT
to local). What's more, for the next major version I'd rather spend dev time on
gtk3 conversion and adding support for openweathermap. I'll keep this in mind
though and try to adapt the UI when rewriting the plugin during the conversion.
