Editing the libexo line worked but things were not so simple when
thunarx-1 had to change to thunarx-2 as thunarx-2 deprecates
thunar-vfs-1. I asked myself how there was a working version of the
thunar-media-tags-plugin in xubuntu and went to get the source from
there. All the answers were in a few patches at
http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/t/thunar-media-tags-plugin/

thunar-media-tags-plugin_0.1.2+svn-r04939really0.1.2.orig.tar.gz
Patches contained in
thunar-media-tags-plugin_0.1.2+svn-r04939really0.1.2-3ubuntu1.debian.tar.gz

01_port-to-thunarx-2.patch
02_port-to-exo-1.patch
03_fix-crash-with-ogg-video-files.patch
04_fix-implicit-dso-linking.patch

After applying those everything just worked and I was able to make my
minor edits.

Should I get in touch with Yves-Alexis Perez <corsac at debian.org>, who
appears to be the author of the patches, to get the changes rolled
into the official source tarball on the goodies website? I'm not at
all familiar with how things like that work, nor am I a developer or
programmer, just someone with an itch to scratch. :) I wanted to
rename tracks using a "-" without spaces between track/title, mostly
because I dislike having to type "\ " from the command line when
traversing directories. I've included patchfiles but I don't recommend
they be included. There is a "todo" in the source for user specified
format, while I doubt my ability to add in that kind of functionality,
I'll play around with it sometime and send a message if I make it
work.

Many thanks for the help, it's been a learning experience.

Nick.
