Another vote for maintaining the battery plugin in its current state
and *not* going upower.

I'm using the battery plugin because it does its job in a simple way,
reading the acpi interfaces directly.

I'm not using xfpm for that reason: It would pull in about 20 dependencies
(on Gentoo), among them polkit, consolekit, pmutils, udisks, parted, lvm2, ...
