[Goodies-dev] task manager vm-size is huge

When running Task Manager from within xfce (on Centos 5.4), there is a
VM-size column which shows many of the tasks with a VM-size in the 100's
of GB each!

Any idea what this really means and if I should be concerned?

There is another column that says RSS which shows the tasks as using
100KB to 4000KB which seems normal, but this VM-size column seems strange.

I could not find any docs with regards to Task Manager and a google
search did not turn up anything useful.

Thanks
