Summary: battery plugin uses deprecated procfs files
Classification: Panel Plugins
Product: Xfce4-battery-plugin
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC (x86_64)
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: major
Priority: Medium
Component: General
AssignedTo: goodies-dev at xfce.org
ReportedBy: liquid.acid at gmx.net
Hi there,
I noticed that version 0.5.1 of the the battery panel plugin doesn't work when
the deprecated ACPI power nodes are disabled in the kernel
(CONFIG_ACPI_PROCFS_POWER disabled).
I'm using vanilla-sources-2.6.35.4. ACPI power nodes in /proc is deprecated and
have been moved into sysfs. Both battery and ac_adapter information can now be
found under /sys/class/power_supply/ (ACAD and BAT1 in my case).
The plugin doesn't seem to have any code to get information from the sysfs
files.
Greets,
Tobias
