I still had problems with that using beta2. Because when xfpm is not
shut down cleanly (various crash, for example) (which I experimented a
lot those days, because of tests with KMS and stuff like that). At
restart, I sometime end with 2 or 3 xfpm, even when it says “an xfpm
instance is already running”.

I think xfsettingsd had the same kind of problem so you might want to
look at it.
