I just tested this bug with 
xfce version 4.4.2 
battery plugin version 0.5.0
distribution: debian unstable
kernel 2.6.24
compiled for amd64

and the results that with my battery removed and the AC power plugged in, the
battery plugin is no longer running the low and critical battery commands that
have been specified.  The battery percentage shows 0% in these cases, but I do
not see the results that the previous reporter outlined.

I would recommend changing this bug to fixed.
