Summary: Interface name is limited to 10 chars
Product: Xfce Panel Plugins
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC (x86)
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: Medium
Component: wavelan
AssignedTo: goodies-dev at xfce.org
ReportedBy: corsac at debian.org
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en; rv:1.8.1.12)
Gecko/20080208 (Debian-1.8.1.12-1) Epiphany/2.20
Build Identifier:
A debian user reported [0] that when adding an interface in wavelan plugin, one
was limited to 10 chars. This arbitrary limitation isn't catched often, but
when it is, it's really annoying.
Is there a practical reason for limiting interface name? If there is, can it be
extended to a bit more (and if there's more, could it be removed completely?)
Thanks.
