Fun you are interested.

There are many differences to "Network Monitor" panel applet.
This plugin replaces a combination of wavelan-plugin and  
network-monitor-plugin.

For now the following is most important.

* It uses the daemon NetworkMonitor in the background and doesn't handle  
the
  hardware self.
* It lets you select wich interface and network to use. (cable or wireless  
network).
* It shows the speed of current used connection. You don't have to select  
one.
* It shows status of current connetion.

And more is to come. When someone who uses VPN or encrypted WLAN helps me  
it will
hopefully suport it. It shouldn't be to hard to include.

Like to hear if anyone succes in using it. Im running Debian testing.
