[Goodies-dev] Acceptance of patches

Hello list,

As some of you might have noticed I submitted a patch against a project that is not my own (xfce4-taskmanager).

As usual, I am not expecting the patch to be accepted immediately, but only after some reviewing from the maintainer. However, the maintainer seems to be away 
from the usual communication channels (this list).

What's the usual approach from you guys when this happens ? Wait for the maintainer to come online, accept/decline/delay the patch ?

I'm not sure that committing the patch myself (can it be done?) would a good approach, so I just attached it to the bugzilla report.
