Same behaviour detected on Gentoo 2006.1 ( kernel: 2.6.17-gentoo-r7 ).

XFCE Version: 4.4 RC1 (4.3.99.1) - installed throught the gtk installer.

Plugin: xfce4-diskperf-plugin-2.0

Steps:

Download the plugin, compile it, add it to XFCE Panel, them mapped to my
current ide disk (tryed to map to partitions too throught the configuration
panel of the plugin, but doesn't worked also....)

I have monitores the /proc/diskstats and it is fine and updating correctly, the
plugin isn't reading it properly, please change the title of this bug to:

"Diskperf plugin doesn't detect disk activity in Linux 2.6 kernels."

Also tested on a Debian Sarge environment, and on a Slackware environment, both
with 2.6.x kernels and XFCE4.4-RC1. In both, the plugin did'nt work.
